The Great Alpine Gallery is a permanent exhibiting venue in Swifts Creek, Victoria (Australia) displaying and selling the work of local artists. It was opened in October 1998. Since that time the Gallery has operated as a non-profit community art-space run entirely by volunteers. The Gallery is housed in a retail space in the main street of Swifts Creek which had previously served a variety of retail operations over many decades. Funding comes through memberships and donations, a commission on sales through the shop, running workshops and occasional successful grant applications. Free admission.
Opening Hours. Thursday to Monday: 10.30am-3.30pm. Tuesday and Wednesday: closed
(note: as we are staffed entirely by volunteers it is not always possible to remain open for the advertised hours, particularly on weekdays – please call to confirm opening hours if you’re travelling especially to visit us).
